For 2002 the Fazer received a new fairing with the 'Foxeye' headlight design shared with the FZS1000 Fazer, which fixed the weak lighting of earlier models. It also gained a larger, sculpted tank and a new instrument panel, while the carburetted engine stayed unchanged.
